Fishing the Norfolk Broads





With over 200 miles of rivers and inland waterways the Norfolk Broads offers some of the countries best fishing for species such as roach, bream, tench, perch and pike or try your luck at one of the many day ticket/commercial lakes and ponds that are dotted around the Norfolk Broads.



Please note the Norfolk Broads is subject to the closed season and is available for fishing during the course fishing open season (16th. June - 14th. March) as long as you are in posession of an NRA National Fishing Licence, available from Post Offices or direct from http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk/subjects/fish/?lang=_e

We recommend the following methods and baits for specic species



Roach:
Method: Rod fishing using waggler or stick float, pole fishing. Ledger and swimfeeder.
Baits: Maggots, casters, hemp, bread, worms
Line strength: 2lbs - 4 lbs
Hook Size: 20 - 12 (dependent on size of bait)



Bream:
Method: Float fishing in still conditions on the bottom else ledger & swimfeeders
Baits: Lots and lots of groundbait (crumb), bread, maggots, red worms, sweatcorn
Lines: 4lbs - 6 lbs
Hook Size: 18 - 12



Pike:
Method: Rod fishing - float, ledger, spinning, lure fishing
Baits: Artifical lures and spinners, fish baits on or off bottom
Lines: 15lbs (min.)
Hook Size: 8 - 6 doubles or trebles, preferably de-barbed



Perch:
Method: Float fished on bottom or ledger
Baits: Worm, maggot, small fish & lures
Lines: 2lbs - 6 lbs
Hook Size: 20 - 10



Tench:
Tackle: Float (lift method) and ledger/swimfeeder
Baits: Bread, maggots, casters, sweet corn and red or lob worm
Lines: 4lbs - 6 lbs
Hook Size: 20 - 8
